The Rev. William H. Schulte, PhD, chaplain of Mount Carmel celebrated a requiem high mass Thursday morning at 9 o'clock for the funeral services of Sister Mary Charlotte Stackhouse, BVM, and pronounced the final absolution in the convent cemetery. Sister Mary Charlotte died Tuesday morning in the Mount Carmel infirmary after an lingering illness.

Sister Mary Charlotte, Annie Stackhouse, daughter of Samuel S. and Anne Humphrey Stackhouse, former residents of Philadelphia, Pa. was born in Davenport, Ia. Three of their children became religious. Brother Irenacus, CSC, Notre Dame, Ind. who still survives; the late Sister M. Angelita, BVM, a gifted writer of prose and poetry; and Sister M. Charlotte, who entered the congregation of the Sisters of Charity, BVM, Dec. 8, 1889 at the first mother house on St. Joseph's Prairie.

Sister M. Charlotte taught in grammar and high school department of schools in Chicago, at Immaculate Conception Academy, Davenport, and at Mount St. Gertrude Academy, Boulder, Colorado. For a time she fulfilled the office of local superior.

In 1934, Sister was transferred to Mount Carmel Infirmary.
