ILLNESS – WILL BE
BURIED TUESDAY

Mrs. Matilda Specht, 2216 Couler Avenue, passed away Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, death culminating a long illness. During the eighty years which marked the span of the decedent's life, she endeared herself to a wide circle of friends and her demise has case a mantle of sadness over the community.

Mrs. Specht was born in Bavaria, Germany, January 10, 1839. When eight years old, she came to this country living for a while in Hartford, Wis. She has resided in Dubuque fifty-six years.

Six daughter and two sons all of Dubuque survive her. They are as follows: Mrs. Margaret Nipp, Mrs. Anton Neuwoener, Mrs. Henry Stuber, Mrs. D. J. Haas, Mrs. Edward Lenz, and Mrs. Julia Sprengelmeyer; and Caspar and Peter Specht. Another daughter, Mrs. Henry Hartman, died a year ago.

Funeral services will be held from the family home to the Sacred Heart Church at nine o'clock Tuesday morning. Internment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
