Cecil V. Smith, 36, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Sunnycrest Sanatorium after an illness of two years. Friends may call at the Hoffmann Mortuary, where services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Smith was born Nov. 21, 1912 in Delaware County, the son of the late Harris H. and Maggie Monnahan Smith. He came to Dubuque seven years ago.
Surviving are his wife; two sisters, Miss Hazel M. Smith, of Dubuque, and Mrs. Lavone Carney, of Philadelphia, Pa., and one brother, Ralph P. Smith, of Chicago, Ill.
