MRS. BARBARA HAUPERT

Mrs. Barbara Haupert, 83, widow of Jacob Haupert, died Monday afternoon at 1:50 o’clock at the family farm house near St. Catherine’s in Mosalem Township after a long illness.

The remains are at the Hoffmann Mortuary where friends may call after 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, the funeral will be held Thursday morning from the Hoffmann Mortuary at 8:15 o’clock to St. Catherine’s Church in Mosaleum at 9 o’clock. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Haupert was born July 7, 1860, at Scales Mound, Ill., a daughter of the late Thomas and Christina Heer, pioneers in that section, and was the last of a family of nine children to die. She came to Dubuque County and settles in Mosaleum Township 62 years ago when she was married to Jacob Haupert, Jan. 12, 1881, by the Rev. Joseph Schulte.

She was a member of the Catholic Church and attended St. Catherine’s Parish, where she was a member of the Rosary Society.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Annie Bauer and Mrs. Mary Mastin, both of Mosaleum; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Besides her husband; she was preceded in death by one daughter Mrs. Earnest (Catherine) Quade; five sisters; three brothers; and her parents.
