William S. Cooper, 72, died suddenly at his residence, 1395 Central Avenue, Monday at 10:30 o'clock. In apparent good health, the widely-known carpenter – contractor succumbed a few minutes after he was stricken with a heart attach.

The body is resting at the Haudenshield Funeral Home, 1258 Main Street, from where the funeral services will be held, the date and time to be announced later.

Born Feb. 27, 1871, at Georgetown, Wis., Mr. Cooper had been a resident of Dubuque for 35 years. He was a member of Mosaic Lodge No. 125. A. F. and A. Masons, and of the Dubuque Low Twelve Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lomina Cooper: one son, Vernon H. Cooper, of Albuquerque, N. Mexico; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
