HOLY CROSS, Iowa - Debra M. Osterhaus, 58, of Dubuque, formerly of Holy Cross, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jose Comparan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from

4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at Kramer Funeral Home, Holy Cross, where there will be a vigil service at 6:30 p.m.

She was born on July 23, 1955, in Manchester, daughter of Cletus and Emerald (Goerdt) Osterhaus. She had been a resident of Area Residential Care in Dubuque since 1970 and was currently residing at Sunnycrest Manor in Dubuque.

Surviving are her sisters-in-law, Karen Osterhaus, of Davenport, and Marilyn (Ron) LeClair, of Syracuse, N.Y.; stepsiblings, Roger (Donna) Sweeney, Terry (Mary Ann) Sweeney, Tim (Linda) Sweeney, Pat (Stacy) Sweeney, Jan (Cindy) Sweeney, Lisa (Scott) Grekoff, Sheila (John) Zasoba, Sharon (John) Neel, Mary Jean Sweeney, Colleen (Don) Carl and Kathleen (Tim) Shores; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dale and Dennis Osterhaus; and her stepmother, Helen Sweeney Osterhaus.
