FARLEY, Iowa - William C. "Bill" McMahon, 87, of 10356 Hartbecke Road, Farley, died at 3 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Michael Schueller officiating. Burial will be in

St. Joseph's Cemetery in Farley. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, where a Scripture wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m.

William was born on Jan. 29, 1926, in Farley, son of Joseph and Alice (McDonough) McMahon. He received his education in the rural country schools and at St. Joseph's school in Farley.

On June 29, 1963, he was united in marriage to Jane Meyer at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg.

Bill farmed in the rural Farley area all his life. He enjoyed his horses and loved farming with his wife.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley.

Surviving are his wife, Jane McMahon, of Farley; and three brothers-in-law, Allen (Helen) Meyer, of Abingdon, Ill., Leon (Joan) Meyer, of Viroqua, Wis., and Robert Meyer, of Garnavillo, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mabel McMahon and Marie Smith; and three brothers, Louis J. McMahon and twin brothers in infancy; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Southwick and Dorothy Christopher.
