FARLEY, Iowa - Marie C. Lehnhoff, 87, of Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade, formerly of Farley, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 3, 1996, at the care center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 3:30 p.m., a parish rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a scripture wake service at 7 p.m.

She was born on March 1, 1909, in Granville, daughter of Peter and Mary (Mathey) Lucas. She married Ernest P. Lehnhoff on Jan. 29, 1929, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington; he died on Dec. 15, 1959.

Mrs. Lehnhoff was a homemaker. She and her husband lived in Worthington, where he operated a car repair shop. They moved to Dyersville for a short time. In 1943 they returned to Worthington, where he was a car dealer and she helped with the business for 10 years. Then they moved to Farley and operated the Rainbow Motel until her Ernest died.

She received her education in the Farley rural schools and Worthington schools. She was a member of the Farley Catholic Daughters of the Americas Presentation Court 1460 and St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its altar and rosary society.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Amanda Callahan, of Epworth, and Mary Lehnhoff, of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

A Marie C. Lehnhoff Memorial Fund has been established.
