FARLEY, Iowa - Gerald R. "Jerry" Lansing, 37, 633 Concord Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Farley, died Monday, Oct. 13, 1997, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8 p.m.

Jerry was a sales and applications specialist for Industrial Engineering Equipment Co., Cedar Rapids.

He was born Aug. 4, 1960, in Dubuque, son of John and Rita (Wille) Lansing. He married Joan Hosch on Nov. 19, 1983, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cascade.

He graduated from Western Dubuque High School, Epworth, in 1979, and from Hawkeye Technical Institute, Cedar Falls, in 1988. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids Knights of Columbus Council 5544, and a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, where he was a parish council member, on the building grounds committee, and served as an usher. He was also an assistant instructor for the Dale Carnegie Leader.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Lansing, of Cedar Rapids; a son, Matthew John Lansing, at home; his parents, John and Rita Lansing, of Farley; four brothers, Randy (LuAnne) Lansing, of East Dubuque, Ill., Rod (Sue) Lansing, of Dyersville, Jim (Amy) Lansing, of Cedar Rapids, and Mike (Jill) Lansing, of Dyersville; six sisters, Julie (Steve) Leibold, of Earlville, Shirley (Mark) Singsank, of Dyersville, Sharon (Jason) Wegh, of North Barrington, Ill., Carol (Tom) Russell, of Dyersville, Laura (Mike) Decker and Amanda Lansing, both of Farley; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Julie Hosch, of Cascade; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry (Sharon) Hosch, of Epworth, Donna (Hosch) and Mark Yando, of Kenosha, Wis., Andrew and Lynn (Hosch) Stewart, of St. Louis, and Nick and Dan Hosch, both of Cascade; and 13 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a Gerald R. Lansing Memorial Fund has been established.
