FARLEY, Iowa -- Services for Hugo F. Krapfl, 85, of 304 3rd Ave. NE, Farley, will be at 10:30 am Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call until 9 pm today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where St. Joseph's Parish rosary will be said at 4 pm and the wake service will be said at 7 pm.

Mr. Krapfl farmed in the rural Farley area until his retirement in 1964, when he was a bus driver for the Western Dubuque County Community School District.

He was born on Dec. 24, 1906, in Elgin, Neb., son of Edward and Elizabeth (Osterhaus) Krapfl. He died at 3:45 pm Tuesday, March 17, 1992, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade.

He married Alvina Osterhaus on Jan. 19, 1932, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville; she survives.

He attended the Dyersville area schools. He was a member of the Farley City Council from 1966-80 and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Also surviving are four sons, Dick (and Mary) of Indianola, the Rev. Daniel A. of Dubuque, Kenneth (and Janann) of Monticello, and the Rev. Gary F. of Decorah; two daughters, Mrs. John (Lois) Lansing of New Vienna and Nancy Krapfl of Denver; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, the Rev. Monsignor Richard Krapfl of Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by an infant son and twin daughters Jean Krapfl in 1936 and Joan Krapfl in 1935.

A Hugo F. Krapfl Memorial Fund has been established.
