FARLEY, Iowa - Alver H. "Olie" Kluesner, 92, 25125 Duschner Lane, Farley, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 1998, at Heritage Manor, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a Farley Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. and a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Kluesner farmed in the Farley area until his retirement.

He was born on Oct. 18, 1905, in New Vienna, son of Herman and Mary (Heying) Kluesner. He married Ardella M. Klaus on Jan. 4, 1927, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna; she died April 1, 1992.

He was a member of the Farley Knights of Columbus Council 2001, and a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Farley, and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving are a son, Jim (Carol) Kluesner, of Farley; a daughter, Alice Harkness, of Bloomington, Minn.; and 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Gerald "Jerry" Kluesner; two brothers, Lawrence and Raymond; and four sisters, Nettie Steffen, Adeline Ahlers, Alvina Ploessel and Camilla M. Kramer.
