FARLEY, Iowa - Doris R. (Elliott) Anstoetter, 91, of Farley, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade, surrounded by her family.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Michael Schueller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where the Farley American Legion Auxiliary and the CDA's rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. and a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

She was born on March 24, 1921, in Manchester, daughter of Fred and Elsie (Faust) Moser. She received her education in the Manchester schools.

Dorie was united in marriage to James (Slick) P. Elliott on Oct. 6, 1938. Together they raised their three children in Farley and spent 42 cherished years together. They owned and operated Elliott Standard Service for 30 years. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1980. After James' passing, Dorie was united in marriage to Charles A. Anstoetter on Sept. 1, 1987, in Farley. They were able to share 25 blessed years together.

Dorie enjoyed spending time bowling and golfing in her younger years, and she was still an avid card player.

She was an active member of the community and church, being involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America and many other organizations.

You could often find her spending time and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Those who are left to cherish her memory include three children, Jane (Duane) Hermsen, of
Peosta, David (Faith) Elliott, of Marysville, Pa., and Beverly (Bob) Murray, of Omaha, Neb.; two stepchildren, Sue (Bob) Howard, of Peosta, and Garry (Deb) Anstoetter, of Epworth; 12 grandchildren, Carrie (Jeremy)

Bettcher, Ben (Jean) Hermsen, Angie (Zach) Schultz, James (Erin) Hermsen, Mallorie Hermsen, Lisa (Darrell) Ellis, Keith (Heather) Elliott, John (Missy) Murray, Tim (Jennifer) Murray, Pat (Deb) Murray, Mike Murray and Chris (Courtney) Murray; five stepgrandchildren, Jill (Wade) Giorno, Kelly (Ryan) Novak, Becky Howard and Sara and Brooke Anstoetter; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous brothers- and sister-in-laws, Jerry (Moni) Anstoetter, of Farley, John (Joan) Anstoetter, of Dubuque, Marian Bell, of Dyersville, Millie Kohler, of Dekalb, Ill., Fran (Esther) Joyce, of Colorado, Shirley (Clete) Maiers, of Dubuque, and Janaan (Ken) Krapfl, of Monticello.

She also was proceeded in death by parents and three sisters, Grace, Hazel and Virginia.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque and the staff of Shady Rest Care Center for all the compassion and care given to Dorie.
