EASTMAN, Wis. -- Robert L. Schwendinger, 64, of rural Eastman, formerly of East Dubuque, Ill., died Wednesday, October 24, 1990, at Ottumwa (Iowa) Regional Health Center.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick's Church hall, where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m. The Beeman-Patchak Funeral Home, Gays Mills, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schwendinger farmed in rural Eastman for 30 years and for the past 2½ years was a delivery man for Emmons-Napp Office Products in Prairie du Chien, Wis.
He was born on May 26, 1926, in Dubuque, son of Alphonse and Catherine (Cleary) Schwendinger. He married Dorothy Risley on August 17, 1948, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Dubuque; she survives.
He was a World War II Navy veteran. Also surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Jean) Jozfowicz and Mrs. Andre (Lois) Keller, both of Fennimore, Mrs. David (Julia) Ubel of Racine, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Froiseth of Soldiers Grove and Mrs. Michael (Mary) Haack of Windsor; five sons, Gerald of Lancaster, Daniel of Teton, Idaho, David of Fort Benning, Ga., and Jeffery and Mark, both at home; 19 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mrs. John (Kathleen) McKillip of Mount Zion, Mrs. Fred (Virginia) McGovern of Dubuque, Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) Saeugling of Farley, Iowa and Mrs. Roy (Rosemary) Wydert of New York; and four brothers, Anthony of Boscobel, John of Dubuque, Donald of Seneca and James of Cuba City.
He was preceded in death by a son Steven in 1975.
