Died, in this city, June 9, 1910, Mrs. Sophia Bruns, widow of the late Henry Bruns, aged 83 years. Private service at the home, 326 Valeria St., Sunday, June 12, at 12:45. Public funeral service at M.E. church Sherrill's Mound at 8:30. Interment in cemetery adjoining. (Chicago papers please copy).

Mrs. Sophia Bruns died Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at her residence, after an illness of one wek. Deceased was 83 years of age. She was born near Bremen, Germany, Feb. 11, 1827, and came to this country in 1846, settling in St. Louis, Mo. The same year she was married to Henry Bruns and came to Sherrills, Iowa, making her one of the oldest residents of this part of the country. Her husband preceded her to the grave nine years ago. She remained in Sherrills until eight years ago, when she removed to this city and had lived here ever since.

Mrs. Bruns was a kind and good woman, devoted to her family. She had a host of friends, who, with the bereaved family, feel the loss greatly.

Seven children survive her. They are Henry A. of Minneapolis, Mrs. Hinde of Early, Ia., Mrs. Rev. Koerner of St. Paul, Edward of Sherrills, Mrs. Anna Strete of St. Paul, Mrs. Maria Kuntz of Sherrills and Miss Otillea of this city.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the residence to the M.E. church at Sherrills, where services will be held. Burial in M.E. cemetery at Sherrills.
