MICHAEL DESMOND, a venerable resident of DeWitt, Clinton county, expired Tuesday at the ripe age of 87 years. Deceased was the father of W. M. Desmond, ex-United States Marshal, who is well known in Dubuque. Mr. Desmond was a native of Ireland and located in Clinton county in 1850. The funeral occurs this afternoon.
