Sudden Death – We learn that an infant child of Charles McArthur was found dead in bed yesterday morning. It was aged four months. Whether its death occurred from suffocation or some other cause, we have not learned.~Dubuque Herald, Feb. 11, 1860
------------The next issue of the paper had even more about the death of the McArthur child .....
It is thought that the death of the child of Mr. McArthur was caused by some affection of the heart. The event is a most melancholy one and commands our deepest sympathy. Yet the loss of a child brings with it consolation equal to its bitterness. Nature may weep and refuse to be comforted over such an event, but the soul should rise above such griefs and smile as for a choice boon granted by a kind parent to a favorite child.
