William J. Pfeiler
Services for William J. Pfeiler, 65, of Holy Cross, who died at 5 a.m. Tuesday in a Rochester, Minn. hospital after a long illness, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the home three and one-half miles east of Holy Cross to the Holy Cross Catholic church. The Rev. Anthony W. Sigwarth will officiate and burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
He was born Jan. 4, 1884, at Holy Cross and was a lifelong resident of the community. He married Mary Ann Ruden at Holy Cross on Nov. 19, 1908.
Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Theissen, Mrs. Carl Kluesner and Mrs. Frances Brecht, of Holy Cross, four sons, Marcellus, Emmett and Matthew of Holy Cross, and Leander of Minneapolis Minn., two sisters, Anna and Katherine of Dubuque; two brothers, Joseph and Edward of Dubuque; 12 grandchildren and a niece, Sister Mary Herberta, of Tigarel, Ore. who made her home with the family.
Arrangements are in charge of the Kramer funeral home in Dyersville.
