DIED-
William Ross, formerly in the saloon business in Dubuque, under the firm of Mersch & Ross, died at Scales Mound, Illinois, last Sunday morning at three o'clock, of consumption, of which disease he had been afflicted for years. A few years ago he was a clerk in Van Emblen's hat store, and afterwards engaged in the above business, which he soon deserted owing to failing health. Mr. Ross was a high-minded honorable gentlemen and universally respected.
