Phillip Devine died Thursday, May 13, 1915. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1837. He came with his parents to Iowa and settled in this section of the state when about 18 years old. In 1870 he was married to Bridget Dawson at Garry Owen, who survives him.
Their surviving children are Phillip, address not known,and Mrs. Michael Green at home; brothers and sisters, Bartley, Hugh, James, Mrs. Eliza Collins and Mrs. Mary Ann Rogers, of Waukon, S.D. The funeral was held Saturday, May 15th, with services at St. Mary's church conducted by Rev. J. B. Albers. The pall bearers were Phillip Kauder, John Finn, Jacob Smith, J. P. Lane, Michael Dolphin, and James Murphy.
