James F. Hancock, 67, of 1475 Oeth Court, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Saint Columbkille's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Philip Kruse officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 1 p.m.
Mr. Hancock was a car salesman for more than 30 years and specialized in Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.
James was born Jan. 12, 1936, in Dubuque, son of Freeman "Happy" and Doris (Meehan) Hancock. He married Lois Frank on Aug. 25, 1956, at Saint Columbkille's
He was a member of the Saint Vincent De Paul society and Lacoma Golf Course. He also was a member of the Musicians Union.
Surviving are his wife Lois; four sons, Tim (Angie) Hancock, Bob (Tina) Hancock, Pat (June) Hancock, Chuck Hancock; a daughter Ann (Jeff) Blake, all of Dubuque; his mother-in-law, Clara Frank; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Gayle) Hancock; a sister, Sister Janice Hancock, PBVM, both of Dubuque; two sisters-in-law, Janaan Hancock and Jannan Hancock, both of Dubuque; and a brother-in-law, Robert Frank, of Dubuque
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son James J. Hancock, on May 23, 1999; a granddaughter, Leslie, on September 3, 1999; and three brothers Calvin "Blackie," Bill and Blaine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque, Saint Vincent De Paul Society or Saint Columbkille's.
