Dorothy R. Bray

Dorothy R. Bray, 91, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1992 at the Bethany Home in Dubuque. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial in Mr. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque. Gene Siegert & Son Westview Funeral Home of Dubuque was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born Oct. 9, 1901 in Dubuque to Frank and Rose (Lorenz) Jaeger. A graduate of the Visitation Academy in 1919, she attended Mt. St. Clara College in Sinsinawa, WI. On May 24, 1927 she and Louis B. Bray were married.

She was a charter member of both the Nativity parish and St. Joseph's parish. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Rosary Society and former member of the Dubuque Golf and Country Club. She served as a Red Cross volunteer at Mercy Health Center for 25 years.

Surviving are 2 daughters: Barbara (William) Kruse and Marianne (Carl) Haupert, all of Dubuque; 2 sons: Dr. Louis B. (Gwen) Bray of Waukon and John "Jack" (Elizabeth) Bray of Dubuque; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died Nov. 6, 1966; a granddaughter Betsy Bray in 1984 and a grandson Michael McFarlane in 1959.
