Place and cause of death: At Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque from complications resulting from pneumonia.

Services: Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Catherine Church

Burial: Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery

Visitation: To celebrate Eldon's life, friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Behr's Funeral Home.

Rosary/Wake Service: There will be a parish wake service said at 3:45 p.m. on Monday at Behr's.

Date/Place of Birth: Eldon was born March 18, 1928 in Dubuque, Iowa, Son of Edmund H. and Ella (Linden) Tigges

Brief Personal Information:
Eldon married Louise Wachter on Sept. 1, 1945 at St. Mary's Church in Dubuque. She preceded him
in death on April 11, 2003.
Eldon worked at the former Dubuque Packing Company for over 25 years retiring as a foreman. In 1972 he and Louise moved to Sun City, Arizona where he worked as an automotive tech. After returning to Dubuque in 1989, he was employed at Theisens in Dubuque before retiring.

He was an active member of St. Catherine's Parish. Eldon enjoyed time spent at their cottage with family and friends. He liked to cook for family occasions and always enjoyed a good game of cards. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing fresh vegetables from his garden with his family and friends. Eldon was a fun loving, entertaining husband, father and grandfather. We will forever treasure all the memories and traditions passed on to us.

7 Grandchildren: Susan (Andy) Jordan, Kyle Tigges, Tonya (Scott) Bainbridge, Shaun (Kaylea) Tigges, Kanyada (Mike) Reichmann, Naomi (Tim) Sprank and Tamika (Randall) Norling
12 Great-grandchildren
2 Sisters: Anna Mae Wimer, Dubuque, IA
Eileen "Toots" Pierce, LaCrosse, WI
2 Brothers: Cletus Tigges, Dubuque, IA
Ralph Tigges, Dubuque, IA
Nieces and nephews

Preceded in death by: his wife, Louise, a son: Thomas Tigges; 3 Sisters: Arnelda Dress, Mildred Duggan and Marge Keenan; 1 Brother: Robert Tigges.

Memorials: An Eldon H. Tigges memorial fund has been established.

Thank You: The family would like to thank Dr. Caceres and his nurse Jackie for all of the extraordinary care given to Eldon over the years. A very special thank-you to Eldon's son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Mickey, for the many years of selfless and loving care they provided to Eldon.
