DEATH OF CONNOLLY JONES

We regret to hear of the death of another of the early settlers of Galena. Mr. Connolly Jones died on Sunday last, aged upwards of 80. He was a native of Drogheda, Ireland, was a printer of trade, and was perhaps the eldest of our craft in the state at the time of his death. For some twelve or fifteen years he worked on the London Herald and was engaged in the trial of Warren Hastings, and he informed us, that he assisted to set up the testimony originally taken in the case. He leaves an aged widow and a respectable family of children to survive him.
