Rosemarie Shumard, 75, of 2467 W. 32nd St., died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Dubuque Nursing & Rehab Center.

There will be no public services or visitation. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Nov. 29, 1927, in McKees Rocks, Pa., daughter of Rose Haines. She married William Shumard on March 15, 1952, in Cleveland.

She enjoyed ceramic arts and made several villages and pottery.

Surviving are her husband, William "Bill" Shumard, of Dubuque; a daughter, Leslie (Steve) Neyens, of Dubuque; and a brother, Melvin Keating, of Napa Valley, Calif.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wes Shumard, in 1999.

The family wishes to extend a thank-you to Hospice of Dubuque, Dubuque Nursing & Rehab and Dr. Khatib and Dr. Payne for the care and kindness they gave to Rosemarie.
