Lyle P. Link, 76, of 3153 Pasadena Court, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Resurrection Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion, Dubuque Post 6. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the church, where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m. The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Link retired from John Deere Dubuque Works after 31 years of service.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1927, in Balltown, Iowa, son of Frank W. and Margaret (Thul) Link. He married Elaine Rettenmeier on April 7, 1956, in Balltown.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed walking, playing golf and bowling. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and the American Legion, Dubuque Post 6.

Surviving are his wife, Elaine, of Dubuque; three children, Pat (Todd) Davis, of Peoria, Ill., Peg (Steve) DeLoe, of Eldridge, Iowa, and Kevin (Pam) Link, of Davenport, Iowa; six grandchildren, Matthew and Charlie Davis, Denielle, Lindsey and Drew DeLoe and Megan Link; two brothers, Wilmer "Bill" (Edna) Link, of Dubuque; and Leon (Kay) Link, of Holy Cross, Iowa; a sister, Grace Brimeyer, of Dubuque; three sisters-in-law, LaVerne "Honey" Cummer, of Dubuque, Alice Link, of Balltown, and Mary Link, of Franklin, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Sylvester, Herbert and Cletus Link; and a brother-in-law, Leon "Slim" Brimeyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque and Resurrection Catholic Church.
