She was born on Nov. 15, 1915, in McMinnville, Tenn., and was raised by Kirby and Eula (Bader) Hancock. Willa grew up on the Hancock farm in Elizabeth, where she attended a country school and rode horses and skied whenever she got the chance.

Willa made many friends in Dubuque over the years, especially as a resident at Ecumenical Towers. Willa's family was the most important thing in her life and they will miss her dearly.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Jeffrey) Hyde, of Fairfax, S.C., and Joanne (Michael) Rohret, of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Jeff (Tina) Hyde, of Fairfax, Sarah (Thomas) Nack, of Galena, Lisa (Ben) Weser, of Denver, and Chris Rohret, of Chicago; and a great-grandchild, Kane Jeffrey Hyde, of Fairfax.
