Funeral services for Anna M. Johnson, age 93, of Heritage Manor in Dubuque, Iowa were held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. Burial was in the Resurrection Garden Mausoleum, Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque, Iowa.

Anna, daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Liddy) Charland, was born January 6, 1918 in Cherry Mound, Iowa in Allamakee County, near Harpers Ferry, Iowa. She attended school in Waukon, Iowa where she earned a teaching certificate and taught school before she married. Anna was later employed at the Dubuque Packing Company for 10 years. Anna married Clement Deeny at St. Pius Catholic Church at Cherry Mound, Iowa on July 27, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1948. On July 9, 1955 she married Paul Rowe in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1959. She later married Raymond J. Johnson at the St. Joseph the Worker Church in Dubuque, Iowa in 1963. Raymond passed away in 1983. Anna was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, reading and fishing with Paul. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Anna M. Johnson died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Heritage Manor in Dubuque, Iowa. In addition to her parents and three husbands, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph (Rita) Charland and 2 brothers-in-law, Alfred Aird and Elmer "Tugs" Robinson.

Anna is survived by her 4 daughters, Bernadine A. Scadden of Port Byron, Illinois, Rita L. (Wayne) Tschiggfrie of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Karen K. (Richard) Wold of Durango, Iowa, and Margaret M. (James) Kendall of Dubuque, Iowa, 1 son, Thomas J. (Marilyn) Deeny of Dubuque, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Bernice Aird and Margaret "Babe" Robinson, both of Dubuque, Iowa.
