Annie, the wife of Grant Chamberlain and eldest child of John Cummings, died on Thursday morning, Jan. 9 after a very brief illness. Mrs. Chamberlain was born and brought up in Dubuque, and lived here for some time after her marriage. A few months ago she went with her husband and little boy to St. Louis, whence comes the sad and unexpected tidings of her early death. She was 29 years old last October. Two little daughters have preceded her to the better land, and her only surviving child is her eldest, a beautiful boy of 6 years. Mrs. Chamberlain was a woman whose amiable and sympathetic nature endeared her to all her friends, and her sorrowing parents and brothers and sisters will have the sympathy of the entire community in their loss. Mrs. Cummings was called to her daughter's bedside on last Sunday, and has not yet returned from her sorrowful errand.
