Mrs. Birdeva B. Heisey, age 77, widow of Dr. D. J. Heisey of 2900 Brunswick Street, Dubuque, Iowa, died at 2:05 a.m. Thursday at Finley Hospital in Dubuque after a serious illness of one month. * About 1956 or 1957, the obituary does not list the month, day, or year and there are no clues on the back of the obituary as to the specific dates.* Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 787 W. Locust Street. Burial will be in the Linwood Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Haudenshield Funeral Home.

Mrs. Heisey was born March 7, 1879 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Cornelius and Mary Bayless. Her father was one of the founders of Bayless Business College. She was associated with the Dubuque congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was married to David Judson Heisey on October 16, 1907. She attended the Dubuque Public Schools, Bayless Business College, the Dubuque Academy of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, Massachusetts. She was a pianist and composer, writing many songs and piano solos. She taught music before her marriage.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jay (Charlotte) Robinson of Dubuque, Iowa, one son David B. Heisey also of Dubuque and four grandchildren. Her husband, David Judson Heisey died August 23, 1933.
