Fred H. Bower, 85, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Dubuque, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at home.

Services were held in Louisville. The Pearson Funeral Home, Louisville, was in charge of arrangements.

He was born in Dubuque. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and the University of Iowa. He was a veteran of World War II.

He lived in Louisville, where he was a certified public accountant and past president of the Kentucky Society of CPAs. He also served on the board of directors in the past for Kretschmer-Tredway Co. in Dubuque.

Surviving are his wife, Helen, of Louisville; a sister, Laura Foster, of Dubuque; and two nephews, Jim Foster and family, of Lincoln, Neb., and Fred Foster and family, of St. Paul, Minn.
