Telegraph Herald - Thursday, May 1, 2003

Agnes R. Hall, 94, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 121 Concord St., died at 11 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2003, at the care center.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, with the Rev. Lyle Wilgenbusch officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sinsinawa, Wis. Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. Friday at the church. The Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on July 7, 1908, in Hazel Green, Wis., daughter of Bernard and Agnes (Wiegman) Salwolke. She married Maurice Hall on Dec. 31, 1941, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque; he died on Feb. 3, 1989.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. She farmed with her husband in Hazel Green until moving to Dubuque in 1968. She was a cook at Clarke College until 1971, and then did house cleaning for several families, some who became very special friends to her.

Agnes loved to crochet, cross-stitch and play cards. Her real joy was working outdoors, farming and gardening. She will be sadly missed by family and friends and will be remembered for her beautiful smile and how she always reached out and tapped people on their shoulders.

She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the staff of Two North at Stonehill Care Center. They became family to her.

Surviving are two children, Jim (Lyn) Hall, of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Elaine (Tom) Timmerman, of Hazel Green; six grandchildren, Kim (David) Hughes, Scott (Angie) Timmerman, Ryan Timmerman, Michael (Stephanie) Hall, Danielle Hall and Amie (Jim) Klemenz; stepgrandchild, Michelle (Matt) Franci; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Stauffacher.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Theresa, May, Irene and Gennie; two brothers, William and Joseph; and a granddaughter, Renee.

An Agnes R. Hall Memorial Fund has been established.

The Hall family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dall and to the staff of Two North at Stone Hill Care Center for all the care and special love they gave to Agnes. May Jesus bless you.
