AN OCTOGENARIAN DEAD.

Demise of Mrs. Daniel Neenan, Long Resident of the Lead Mine Region.

Mrs. Daniel Neenan died yesterday morning at 3:10, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Crawley, Main and First streets, at the advanced age of 83 years. The deceased lady has been a long time a resident of the lead mine district, and was well known to all the older settlers. Despite her extreme age, she was in rugged health and well preserved, but last spring sustained a fall that fractured her hip. Her injury refused to yield to medical treatment and its effects undermined her constitution and brought on her end. She was born in 1814 in County Fermanah, Ireland, and emigrated to America in 1859, coming directly to Galena, where she soon after married and in 1862 moved to Benton, where her husband died. Twenty years ago she came to Dubuque county and with her family took up a residence in Table Mound township. Of late years she made her residence with her daughter.

She is survived by four children, John and Andrew, of Marysville, Mont., Patrick, of Key West, and Mrs. Crawley. The remains were removed to the home of Patrick Neenan, in Key West, from whence the funeral will be held Sunday morning.
