Mrs. Kelly M. (Dawn M.) Jellison, 42, of 530 Lincoln Ave., died at noon Saturday, March 15, 2003, at home surrounded by her family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 3:30 p.m.

Mrs. Jellison was formerly employed as the manager of the Sinclair 5 Point Mart. She was lastly employed as a carpenter for Conlon Construction Co.

She was born on March 30, 1960, in Dubuque, daughter of Dale M. and Cindy L. (Holder) Metcalf. She married Kelly M. Jellison on Dec. 18, 1992, in Dubuque.

She was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School, class of 1978.

She was an avid gardener and camper and a devoted Dale Earnhart Jr. racing fan. She also enjoyed playing euchre with her sons.

She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Kelly M. Jellison; four daughters, Katie (fianc, John Bellini) Link and Holly Jellison, both of Dubuque, and Berry Jellison and Cindy Jellison, both at home; four sons, David Link, Kelly "Buddy" Jellison Jr., Lucas Link and Joseph Jellison, all at home; a grandson, Tryston Jellison; her parents, Paul and Cindy Breen, of Dubuque; a sister, Kelly Breen, of Dubuque; two brothers, Dale (Patty) Metcalf and Brian Breen, both of Dubuque; a special aunt, Janice Metcalf, of Peosta, Iowa; a grandmother, Alverna Breen, of Dubuque; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dale M. Metcalf; paternal grandparents, David and Hazel Metcalf and Paul J. Breen; and maternal grandparents, Ven and Jean Holder.

In lieu of flowers, a Dawn M. Jellison Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of Dubuque, especially Rose, for their care and concern for Dawn.
