Ernest B. Holmes, 84, of Hesperia, Calif., formerly of Dubuque, died Monday at St. Mary's
Hospital in Apple Valley, Calif.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Family Church in Hesperia.

Mr. Holmes, who was born in Lansing, Iowa, was a foreman at the Unique Balance Co. while
in Dubuque.

Surviving are his wife, Estelle; a son, Wayne of California; four grandchildren and a
great-grandson; and four sisters, Loretta Delaney of Dubuque, Blanche Johnson and Evelyn
Holmes, both of Minneapolis, Minn., and Marge Larkin of Columbus Junction, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harlan.

The Neptune Society was in charge of arrangments.
