Mrs. Pauline (Lena) Sitterly, 79, of 2428 Queen street, who had been ill for the last 10 weeks, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday in Mercy hospital.

Friends may call after Saturday noon at the Haudenshield funeral home, 2170 Central avenue,
from where services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday to Sacred Heart church. Burial will be
in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Sitterly was born Sept. 15, 1868, in Petersburg, Ia., and lived in Dyersville 17 years
before moving to Dubuque 60 years ago. She was a member of Sacred Heart church and the Rosary society.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. S. N. (Clara) Degn, of Vinton, Ia., Mrs. Hilda Shireman and Mrs. Ernest (Stella) Holmes, both of Dubuque, three sons, Joseph Brake, Alfred and
Raymond Sitterly, all of Dubuque; seven brothers, John, Henry, Frank and Fred Hense, all
of Lamont, Ia., Phillip Hense, of Route 2, Dubuque, Anton Hense, of Durango, and Frank I.
Hense, of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Joseph J. Sitterly, died on Aug. 5, 1943.
