AUNT OF LOCAL LADY
DROWNED AT CASCADE

During the flood which occurred
at Cascade on the Maquoketa river
Tuesday, Mrs. Caleb Russel, aged 80,
was drowned and her daughter, Mrs.
Nellie Cowan, was rescued from the
same fate just in the nick of time.
Mrs. Russell is the aunt of Mrs. Ida
Hensley of this place (Exira, IA).

Edward Bell, another Cascade citi-
zen, was also drowned. Thousands of
dollars loss was caused throughout
the country through which the river
has its course.

Note: Ida Irma Patty, born April 16, 1889 in Audubon County, Iowa; died April 02, 1937 in Atlantic, Cass, Iowa. She was the daughter of 2. Theodore "Theo" Patty and 3. Mary B. 'Mame' Winchell. She married (1) Edgar Nelson Peden Bef. 1915 in Estancia, Torrence, New Mexico. He was born October 16, 1872 in Pennsylvania. She married (2) Gerald Leon Hensley March 21, 1921 in Maryville, Missouri. He was born January 20, 1885 in Exira, Audubon, Iowa, and died July 05, 1955 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa. He was the son of John I. Hensley and Flora Belle Statzell.
