Word was received here Wednesday afternoon advising relatives and friends that Michael J. Nelson, for many years a prominent resident of Jackson county, had passed away that morning at his home in Dubuque. No details were given but it is supposed that Mr. Nelson’s death was due to heart failure as he was subject to this trouble. Mr. Nelson served as county recorder and also as supervisor from the fifth district a number of years ago and always took a keen interest in county and community affairs. A short time ago he sold his farm near Lamotte and moved to Dubuque.
