Mrs. Anna Watters, wife of Wm. Watters and eldest daughter of Mr. Martin Denlinger, Sr., died, at her home in Zwingle Sunday morning, Dec. 23, 1917, aged 58 years 11 months and 18 days. She was born at Zwingle, Iowa, Jan. 5, 1859, and spent her life with the exception of a few years in Pennsylvania, in this community where she was beloved by old and young. She was married to Wm. Watters March 30, 1886, who with one son, Ray, and grandson, Wm., survive, also her aged father, Martin Denlinger, Sr., six brothers, J. B. of Pennsylvania, Mart, Sam, I. L. of Zwingle, Dave and Aden of Cherokee, two sisters, Mrs. Dan Huntington of Dubuque and Mrs. L. L. Drenning of Zwingle. In early life Mrs. Watters became a member of Harmony Reformed church and was always a faithful and earnest worker in church and Sunday school and her presence will be sadly missed. A kind daughter, loving wife and mother and dear friend of all has left us and universal sorrow was manifest when her death was announced Sunday morning. Her remains were laid to rest Wednesday morning. Funeral services conducted by her pastor, Rev. Newgard at the Reformed church. Interment in the cemetery nearby. The friendship for Mrs. Watters was manifest by the number of friends who attended her funeral and called at the home after her death and in the grand floral emblems. The room being almost full of beautiful floral sprays and designs. Her casket bearers were messrs Dan Schultz, J. W. Fenton, Mike Hickson, Silas Welty, Jas. Simpson and R. Lenhart.
