OFFICER’S BODY COMES TUESDAY
Services for Lt. Doran To Be Held Wednesday

The body of 2nd Lt. Charles J. Doran of 505 Sunset Ridge, who was killed in action March 4, 1945 in Germany, will arrive in the city Tuesday afternoon.

It will be taken to the Haudenshield funeral home, 1258 Main street, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Max Strang, of the First Congregational church, officiating. Burial will be in Linwood cemetery with military rites in charge of the American Legion and the national guard.

He was born in Dubuque Nov. 15, 1923 and received his education in the city’s schools, graduating from Senior High school in 1942. For a time he attended the Univeristy of Dubuque. He was a member of the First Congregational church.
Doran entered the army March 18, 1943 and received his basic training at Ft. Francis E. Warren, Wyo. He attended OCS at Camp Lee, Va., and was then sent overseas with the Ninth Armored division of the Third Army.

Surviving are a brother, Arthur D. Doran; an aunt Mrs. B. J. Triller, and an uncle, J. A. Blichmann, all of Dubuque. He was preceded by his parents.
