Linda J. Hager, 60, of Dubuque, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Virginia. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of Fred and Helen (Beckner) Kendel. She received her Ph.D. from Kent State University.

She married Charles T. Hager on Feb. 20, 1981, in Pulaski, Va.; he preceded her in death. Together they lived in Parkman, Ohio, before moving to Dubuque in 1997.

She retired from Loras College in 2006, and had previously taught at Clarke College.

Surviving are her three children, James (Laurie) Hager, of Willowick, Ohio, Charles (Katie) Hager, of Davenport, and Jennifer Hager, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Helen, and her brother, Steven.
