John H. Kohler,Sr.

SHERRILL, Iowa -- John H. Kohler, Sr., 63, of Sherrill, formerly of Genoa, Hampshire and West Dundee, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 340 S. Stott St., with the Rev. Louis Tosto and the Rev. Timothy Seigel officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church, where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m., and an Office of the Dead service at 8 p.m. The Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, is in charge of arrangements.

John leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Patricia; two sons, John (Janis) Kohler Jr. and Thomas (Beth) Kohler; a daughter, Patti Ann (Brian) Peschke; 11 grandchildren, Ross, Riley, Bradley, Zachary, Margaret, Ryan, Jon, Nathaniel, Elliott, Sam and Lillian; a sister, Helen Kohler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
