Mildred L. "Millie" Koelker

Mildred L. "Millie" Koelker, 89, of Stone Hill Care Center, Dubuque, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at Stone Hill Care Center following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Phil Kruse officiating and the Rev. Cletus Hawes as homilist. Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Petersburg, Iowa. Friends may call from
2 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where a parish rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.

She was born on April 18, 1918, in Petersburg, daughter of Anton "Tony" and Catherine "Kate" (Kramer) Koelker.

She grew up and attended school in Petersburg until the eighth grade. Millie later became a housekeeper for Monsignor Joseph Dunn for 50 years.

Her love and most precious moments and memories were spent at St. Columbkille's in Dubuque.

Surviving are two brothers, LuVern, of Dyersville, and Allan (Marian), of Petersburg; two sisters, Alma Vaske, of Dyersville, and Cora Gerken, of Phoenix; a sister-in-law, Ruth Koelker; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Evelyn Koelker and Lucille Vaske; two brothers, Edmund and Lawrence Koelker; two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Koelker and Clara Koelker; and three brothers-in-law, Clete Vaske, Victor Vaske and Charles Gerken.
