Mrs. William (Viola) Tretter
Mrs. William (Viola) Tretter, 53, of 712 Noonan St., died at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Haudenshield Funeral Home, 2170 Central Ave. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tretter was born in Dubuque. She was a nurse's aide at Lady of Lourdes, and was a member of Dubuque Women's Bowling Association, Westminster Presbyterian Church, and served in Women's Army Corps during World War II.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons: James Durr of Dubuque and William Leroy Durr of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Mae Schmitt of Dubuque, and a sister, Mrs. Karl (Ellen) Schmitt, of Dubuque.
Submitter's note: Viola was the daughter of Cecil Earl Birch and Mae Alvina Lightfoot. She was born September 29, 1918 and died February 2, 1972.
