WILLIAM J. WITT SR.

Services for William J. Witt Sr., 52, of 2628 Crissy Drive will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Behr's, where the Scripture Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Witt died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at the John F. Kennedy United Auto Workers Center at Ottawa, Ill. He was born in Dubuque, and was a long-time employe of the John Deere Dubuque Works. He was a member of St. Mary's Holy Name Society and the East Dubuque VFW Post 7976. He also was a member of Local No. 94, U.A.W. where he served as a steward, divisional steward, member of the executive board, chairman of the Pension Committee, and member of the Psnsion Board. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Surviving are his wife, the former Leona Sadler; a daughter, Mrs. George (Linda) Benn of Dubuque; two sons, William J. Jr. and Robert J., both at home; one grandson, and four sisters, Mrs. Luella "Lolly" Horch of Grant County, Wis., Mrs. Don (Lorraine) Heming and Mrs. Louise Seipp, both of Dubuque, and Mrs. Marion Schetgen of Fremont, Calif.
