Gerald (Bob) Swan ,43, of 603 University avenue, died unexpectedly at 6 o'clock Monday morning in Mercy Hospital after an illness of 16 days.The body may be viewed at the Didesch Funeral Home after 7 o'clock Monday evening. Funeral services will be held from the Didesch Funeral Home to the Church of the nativity Wednesday morning at a time to be announced later.Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.Born in Lexington,Neb.,May 28,1903, he moved to Dubuque 21 years ago from Lincoln,Neb., and had been employed as a water gas operator at the Key City Gas Company for the last 20 years. Mr. Swan was a member of the Nativity Church;the Holy Name Society, and the Stationary Engineers Local 759. He was married Jan.12,1927,to Harriet Rowe.Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Ruby Mae,Betty,Jjean, and Jeanette,all of Dubuque,and one son,George Swan,also of this city.He was preceded in death by his parents.
