Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in First Church in Chestnut Hill for Clive W. Lacy of Newton Centre, a veteran of both world wars and a former floor manager of Filene's in Boston. He died Saturday in Newton- Wellesley Hospital after a long illness. He was 87.
Born in Dubuque, Iowa, he attended Williams College for two years and was graduated from MIT in 1915. He had been a resident of Newton Centre for 60 years.
During World War I he was a lieutenant in the air service in France.
With Filene's in Boston from 1919 to 1942, he was a merchandise manager on the street floor.
Mr. Lacy was a colonel in the chemical warfare department during World War II and received a Legion of Merit. He served in the Army Reserves until his retirement in 1953.
He was a trustee of the Peabody Home for Crippled Children for many years and served as president from 1955 to 1957. He was president of the Greater Boston Purchasing Corp. from 1954 to 1956.
Mr. Lacy was a member of the Brae Burn Country Club in Newton, the Boston Anthenauem and the Beta Theta Phi fraternity of MIT.
He leaves a daughter, Ann M. Lacy of Sparks-Glencoe, Md.; three sons, John W. of Needham, William R. of Orlando, Fla., and Thomas B. of Lebanon, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
