(Friday, 11 Oct 1901) LIFE WORK DONE Nicholas Heitz, aged 65 years, died last night at the family residence near Rockdale. The deceased had been ill for several weeks but was up and around as usual a few days ago, when he was taken with a fainting spell and fell to the floor striking his head with great force. The effects of the blow he sustained in falling is supposed to have caused his death. Mr. Heitz was a shoemaker by trade and was a man highly respected by all who knew him. He resided in Rockdale for 17 years, where he had many friends who sincerely regret his loss. His wife and nine children survive him, eight boys and one girl. The funeral will take place Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. Services at the Key West Catholic church and interment in St. Mary's German Catholic cemetery.
