FROM EPWORTH
Special Correspondent to the Dubuque Times
EPWORTH, Aug. 31
Mr. Editor: - While California has had its bank" busting," Clear Lake its editorial excursion, and Farley its camp-meeting, Epworth has been unusually quiet for the last few days. The town pump is about dry, and the representative young man with auburn hair and black moustache, with pencil over his right ear, walk the streets as forlornly as if his gal has betook herself to the Alleghenies for her summer vacation. Most of the young people and some of the bad ones have been the past week at the camp-meeting; they returned today looking weary in body but jubilant in spirits. The future looks brighter, which from the glimpse we had of the Seminary, which opened today; we saw Prof. Holm surrounded by a large and cheery looking group of lads and lassies, many of whom appeared to have considerable brains behind moderately good looking face. The large attendance with which the school opened today, is easily accounted for, when we know Prof. Holm advertised in the TIMES. Prof. H. Has a full force of teachers, and the outlook at the present is a full school and prosperous term.

Many of the people of this vicinity are already laying plans, &c, to attend the great "Expose"at Dubuque next week. Good for them.
"GO WEST"
