Dubuque Daily Telegraph, Sunday, August 06, 1871, Dubuque, Iowa, Page: 1

A small tug, the Lone Star, came up the river with three empty flat boats in tow, landed at the levee, transacted some business and departed. In attempting to cross the bar, in front of the levee, which she ought to have known better than to attempted, she grounded; whereupon a couple of the crew jumped overboard and pushed her off, and she went on her way rejoicing.
