The residence of Edward Goldthorpe, some four or five miles west of Dubuque, was burglarized on Sunday, during the absence of the family at church. They “realized” very little by the operation. They took some valueless papers which were on top of a five hundred dollar bond. Mr. Goldthorpe had some $200 in his pocket, and his father had nearly $200 more, belonging to Edward-both of which sums, under ordinary circumstances, would have been left in the house. So near the rascals came to getting nearly a thousand dollars, and didn’t.
